January's Best

All in all, January was a very successful weight loss month. I have
lost about 4 pounds thus far and my total recorded steps for the month
were 299,732...give or take a hundred. I went cross country skiing and
took the family snow shoeing... my four year old had a great time but
did get tuckered out fairly quickly. I ate healthy meals and drank as
much water as I could tolerate. I find drinking water in the winter
quite difficult as opposed to spring and summer. I really need to
drink more water since my skin gets so dried out this time of year. So
February's goal is continue to do what I am doing and drink more
water.

My kingdom for a Subway!

It is such a pain to travel to a city you don't know and then try and
find a Subway. Yes, I was half tempeted to get the Chipotle, but after
a little search I finally found one. So good, love my chicken with
lots and lots of veggies, especially me spinach!!!

Strength from within

As I go through the challenges I face during a day, there are many
thoughts that go through my head. The first and most important is "
What doesn't kill you, will make you stronger".

Pat on the back...NOT!

I have to pat myself on the back because my husband refuses too, though he often looks for his own pat when he vaccums or puts some sauce in a pan to warm up. You get what I mean, he wants recognition for everything he does. I don't want recognition but I surely don't appreciate being constantly put down for eating healthy and working out.

Just another Day!

Day4: Shoveled the driveway...twice, ate my 1500 calories, drank plenty of water and had 14,964 steps today. Spent most of the day going up and down the steps helping my dad put in the new staircase railing. Still no support from the husband, but my children have my back!

A Good Day

Day 3: Did really well, ate a healthy breakfast with my one cup of coffee, lunch was an apple and  a handful of pistachios, drank lots of water, and for dinner a huge salad with mixed greens and broccoli with a little vinegar and olive oil dressing. The only down fall is that I only was able to get in 5,400 steps...yes, I wear a pedometer. It can be difficult to get my 10,000 steps in a day when I am at work. Thinking of using a workout ball to sit on while I do desk work.

Where's the Support

So I wake up Monday morning to see a nice layer of snow on the ground and decide to go and shovel the driveway by hand. I bundle up my son and myself and we get ready to go outside and my husband tells me to use the snow blower. I said no because it would be a good workout to do it by hand. So for some unGodly reason he runs to put his winter gear on and beats me outside, since I had to get my son bundled up with snow pants, boots, gloves, hats and such. I finally get out and start shoveling, I actually accomplished more with a shovel than he did with the snow blower. We come inside and as I go upstairs to change, he says, he's going to run to Reiders to get Donuts (Mind you best donuts ever if your not on a diet). Are you kidding me!!! I yell down "NO DONUTS". He pulls this everytime I tell him I am watching what I eat.  Just so you know he is not obese or overweight. My only redemption is that he works second shift so I do not have to cook what he likes...fried, fatty, and greasy. I can cook everything that is healthy that he hates!
