Wishing for better!

Sometimes we just can't be all that we can be, but we need to step back take a deep breadth and think of all the great accomplishments that have been possible. Some have exercised more and lost a few pounds, some may have maintained...OK that was me, and some may have gained a pound or two. There are many reasons but it has only been two months, step back, reevaluate what went right and what went wrong. Remember, losing weight or just maintaining will be a continuous, lifelong process and the reward is a healthy, happier you!

So the week begins!

Weekends go by so fast...thank goodness, because I usually find myself eating more than I should or just eating the wrong things. It's still cold out so those comfort foods always taste so good. Like clam chowder, an apple fritter and yes, I had coconut donut this morning. But everything in moderation. No use to deprive ourselves and a little sweet every now and then is not a bad thing. Well, we shall see at the weigh in how I have done. Not looking for a huge loss but that is OK, slow and steady win the race...or at least my own personal goal.

Fish Fry Friday!

Lenten fish fries are always the best, but I did really well, except for the three bowls of Clam Chowder. I could go without the fired fish, which I did, but the chowder was really good. The only down side is the only vegetables being served were iceberg lettuce and green beans, I did ask for a triple helping, so I did get my veggies in, also had 4 fried shrimp, a half of a potato, a couple small pieces of walleye and lets not forget the small piece of cake. I figured one piece wouldn't be bad since I weighed myself and was a couple pounds down. One more week till the big weigh in.

How not to eat!!

Yes, there is a trick, just be so busy in your life that when you turn around it is already lunch time. Eat lunch, and then be so busy in the afternoon, you forget to snack, come home eat a healthy dinner and you are good to go. OK, do not recommend.... but it was just one of those days. Actually, I think the more you keep busy you don't think about eating. That is the problem when you are bored, one eats, when one is busy, you don't think about eating. OH, I do eat three of my home made oatmeal cookies with raisins. Everything in moderation.

Monday Night dinner!

Though I had only a small amount of time to dine tonight I was joined by one of our fellow contestants. The food is great and I really like the Grilled Tuna on Salad. Had the honey Dijon dressing and I really liked that a lot. I look forward to the new menu that will be coming out. Aladdin does  a great job at making a great meal. For the need to buckle down, I did really well today and hope to keep it up for the rest of the two weeks.

WHEW, what a month!

Have to be honest not my best, but at least I haven't gained any weight. Another birthday party, though my down fall was the homemade wine and Hard Root Beer. Two weeks to buckle down and try to lose a pound or two.

A not so good week!

Oops, I did it again. Overindulged in birthday cake, and it still isn't over. Have another birthday party on Sunday. On an up note I haven't' gained any, but haven't lose any in two weeks. It was really hard because the cake I ate tasted so good. It was one of those almond tortes, with butter cream frosting and sliver of almonds all over. Well, on the upside, at least I got my nuts in!

Weather, whether to go away!

Watching the weather go from bad to worse today, just doesn't motivate one to get up and move. OK, as long as it's not cancelled, I am still going bowling tonight. I just wish it would make up it's mind so I can get out and work in the yard and get the garden ready.

What a week!

Let's not even go there, why do birthdays have to be so difficult, the eating the drinking, friends wanting to take you out. Don't get me wrong, I love being treated, but boy it plays a number on the scale. I tried, I really did. But the wine has done me in!

Blogging

OK, OK, I am only doing this right this moment because I was just sent the reminder, not that I am worried as I do blog at least once a week. I tell you this has been a rough week....eating wise. It was my birthday, then the time of month were your craving everything...Yeah, I know, TMI! But it is a real problem, you men just don't have to deal with, the bloating the cravings and eating carbs and sweets. Yes, I will get back on track. Tonight is fish night, no, I am not going to a fish fry, I will eat one that has been broiled, baked, or grilled...hmmmm, maybe salmon!!

What a week

OK, really haven't wanted to step on the scale. Just one of those weeks were you need some sweets and everything is calling your name. It is so hard to resist those oatmeal cookies I made this weekend, and I make them with the dark and golden raisins. OK, they do have oats and raisins, it's just the butter and sugar. Now don't get me wrong, I don't gorge myself on them just five bite size cookies.

Ash Wednesdy

The day for fasting for those of us who observe Lent. So I probably list about a pound today since there was no meet and very little of much of anything. My son and I have decided to give up all red meat, we are going to stick with fish, chicken or turkey. Don't want to cut out meat all together and OH yeah, not much in the way of sweets. 40 days of fun!

Times flies!

Had a great weekend...enjoyed a couple drinks and of course some wings and artichoke dip on Friday. Then ate a waffle with blueberries for breakfast, vegetable stir fry and left over wings for dinner and my birthday cake. We all have to let loose every now and then and enjoy ourselves, but now it is time to buckle down to anther week of healthy eating. How quick the years do pass, another year older and a few pounds lower.
