I often eat alone but it was such a pleasure to be joined by my fellow 5%ers. Laura, it was great talking with you and everyone at our table. A big thank you to Cori for putting together nutritional trivia, and remember everyone bananas are not the best source of potassium...Good to know. Also a thank you to Cabana for the great meal and awesome service. The sweet chili salmon was great.

It was a good day because I had already known I had made the 5% mark at the last weigh-in, but it is always nice when the scale keeps heading down. Wasn't as much a weight loss as past months, but as I get closer to my goal weight, I know it will begin to get more difficult. The plus is that I will now be able to workout at the YMCA, so I am hoping to visit at least 3x a week. But when to fit it in?

OK, I know what your thinking, what a terrible thing to say. I know I am getting healthier, stronger, thinner but, I have noticed three things. Since I have lost weight, I now see more wrinkles on my face, because the fat isn't there to diminish them. My clothes don't fit...so now I have to buy a whole new wardrobe and don't have the money. Suggestion for next year, how about a gift certificate to the winner for new clothes. and lastly, I now have more sagging, loose skin than I did before. So, now I need botox, plastic surgery and a whole new wardrobe. OK, on the plus side, I am a lot healthier.

I do so enjoy going to Cabanas and what fantastically prepared meal I had once again. I went for the Filet. It had been about 3 weeks since I had a piece of beef and really needed some red meat. It perfectly prepared and when I asked for extra veggies they did just that. My plate was 2/3 broccoli with this perfect cooked hunk of meat. It was awesome. Nice job!

Oh, how I yearn for the nice weather to come. I know April showers bring May flowers. I have started my seeds indoors for cucumbers, red peppers, cantaloupe, brussels sprouts, and tomato plants. Most everything else I will sow direct. My cucumbers have just begun to emerge. If the weather stays fairly decent I will start my peas and lettuce as soon as I can get outside...hmmm maybe tomorrow.  

A day late but not a dollar short, what a great meal at Cabanas last night. I had the sweet chili salmon and it was fantastic. Now that I have had every meal on the lighten up menu. I have definitely decided the two salmon meals and the filet are my favorite. Will probably be switching off between these three till the end of the contest. 

Thank you to Jaime Brenkus for reminding us that the scale isn't all that. First, I have taken a trip to my closet and secondly, I have lost many inches and yes everything is big on me...so what do I do with no money to buy a new wardrobe?  Three, I have changed my eating habits and have begun to exercise and I do have a higher energy level...so that is good. Lastly, how do I feel emotionally.....I am drained. What do you do when your life is in upheaval, little money to pay the bills, and you have work, school, and a family to take care of? The stress of life just doesn't go away.

Life often gets in the way of doing what we want and what we need to do! Emotionally, psychologically, and physically, it has been a draining week for me....actually, it has a been a draining month. Though, can not go into great deal at this time, I wish life was just a little easier right now. Good luck to everyone in the weigh in!
